Some basic products in Greece among most expensive in EU
Greece remains the second most expensive country in the EU – after Cyprus – for milk, cheese and eggs, one of the nine categories of goods out of 13 that are above average EU prices, according to new data from Eurostat.
Overall, however, the EU’s statistics agency found Greece to be around average as regards food price levels, with the average shopping basket 103 percent the EU average, a figure Greece shares with Germany.
