Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras appears to have turned down a last-minute attempt by the European Commission to reach a compromise and has suggested that he could stand down if Sunday’s referendum results in a “Yes” vote.
Reports in the early hours of Tuesday morning suggested that European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker submitted a final proposal aimed at breaking the deadlock between Greece and its lenders.
